COASTAL PATH CARE NEWS

🌟 Ashley House Receives a GOOD Ofsted Judgement 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share that Ashley House has received a GOOD judgement at its very first Ofsted inspection.

Having welcomed its first child just five months ago, this is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication and commitment of the entire team.

We are especially proud of the progress the young person has made during their time at Ashley House and of the nurturing, supportive environment that has been created to help them thrive.

A huge thank you to Beth Culshaw, Registered Manager, Liam Clark, Deputy Manager, and the whole Ashley House team for their hard work, passion and commitment to providing high-quality care every day.

This outcome is a reflection of what can be achieved when children are at the heart of everything we do. 💙🏡

EMPLOYEE'S OF THE MONTH

🌟 Employee of the Month Recognition

This month we are incredibly proud to recognise two members of our team who have gone above and beyond in their roles and have truly embodied the values of Coastal Path Care.

Ashley House – Jamie Bradley

Since joining residential care, Jamie has shown an outstanding commitment to learning and development, continually looking for ways to increase his knowledge and skills and improve his practice. Over the last six months, Jamie has come a long way, embracing reflective practice, taking on feedback positively and showing a genuine passion for developing within the role.

His willingness to support with additional shifts, overtime and cover, alongside his positive attitude and eagerness to learn, make him a valued member of the Ashley House team with a very bright future ahead.

Westby House – Ste Betteridge

Ste has had an exceptional month, stepping up into the Team Leader role and demonstrating leadership, professionalism and commitment throughout. His support during recent challenges, particularly around supporting and advocating for our young people during difficult periods, has been outstanding.

No matter which home Ste is supporting, he gives 100% and fully commits himself to the young people and staff team around him.

Some of the feedback received about Ste this month speaks for itself:

"Ste is absolutely mint, he's on the ball and one of the best staff I've seen, so good with the children and knows them so well and has great relationships with them"
"Ste is Team Leader level, very good at his job. Everything is boxed off and he doesn't complain, he just gets on with the job and delivers it to a very high standard."
"When Ste comes over to cover, he fully commits to the home. Even though it's not his usual home, he still puts 100% effort in every time."

Both Jamie and Ste represent exactly what we look for at Coastal Path Care — commitment, professionalism, compassion and a willingness to continually learn and develop.

Thank you both for everything you do for our young people, your homes and the wider team. Your hard work does not go unnoticed and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.

MENS MENTAL HEALTH

We’re proud to share that Coastal Path Care are sponsoring one of our own, Ste Betteridge, as he takes part in the upcoming mental health plate and shield ⚽💙

Supporting our staff both in and outside of the workplace is something that really matters to us. Ste is a valued member of our team, and we’re pleased to be backing him in something that not only reflects his passion, but also raises awareness around men’s mental health — an area that deserves continued focus and conversation.

At Coastal Path Care, we believe in building strong relationships, supporting wellbeing, and being part of something bigger — both within our homes and in the wider community.

Good luck Ste — we’re all behind you 👏

🎉 Congratulations to Westby House on Achieving a “Good” Ofsted Rating

We are proud to share that Westby House has been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted. This achievement reflects the dedication, passion, and professionalism of our team, who work tirelessly to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for every young person in our care.

This positive outcome recognises our strong focus on trauma-informed practice, individualised support, and creating a home where children feel valued, listened to, and empowered to thrive.

     THE JJ EFFECT

Some of the Coastal Path Care team had the privilege of taking part in The JJ Effect  and what an experience it was.

The session was incredibly well presented, thought-provoking, and truly engaging from start to finish. Byron delivered powerful message around knife crime that left a real impact on everyone in the room. His ability to share lived experience in such an honest and meaningful way is something you can’t replicate in a textbook, it’s the kind of training that stays with you.

The feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive. This is exactly the kind of real, relatable input our sector needs. We couldn’t recommend it enough, The JJ Effect is the real deal.

Huge thank you to Byron Highton for your time, passion, and bravery in sharing your story. Lived experience is the most powerful form of education.

JM Training Academy

We’ve had the pleasure of two full days of training with James Morris at JM Training Academy!

Our team participated in sessions covering Missing from Home, County Lines, and Drugs & Alcohol Psychosis. The training was fantastic, packed with practical strategies, high-quality resources, and insightful discussion.

Our staff have already benefitted hugely from the learning, gaining valuable knowledge and tools to enhance their practice and support the young people in our care.

As always, James delivered the sessions with energy, expertise, and a wealth of knowledge — a truly engaging and impactful experience for all.

A huge thank you to James and JM Training for their continued support in helping us deliver safe, trauma-informed care.
